Located within the historic Pembroke Manor House (1764), Ivy League was organized in 1986 as a nondenominational Christian school providing high academic, as well as spiritual standards to the student body as a whole. Each student has a warm personal contact with the teacher in a small classroom setting. The purpose of the school is to give a solid academic foundation in the basic fundamentals of learning along with Christian training. A summer program is provided, Camp Ivy League, that incorporates a reading program designed to improve reading skills by one grade level.
The teachers are of a high caliber and are educationally prepared to give each student a thorough scholastic background, as well as strong Christian character. There is a distinct emphasis on patriotism and Christian character training, reflecting a back to basics approach to education, and the original philosophies of the Ivy League Schools.

Our Mission Statement
To build children's character through Academic excellence, Biblical principles and Christian morals - the A, B, C's.
Our children are God's gift to us, but how we raise them is our gift to Him.
The recent onslaught of greed and selfishness seen in the corporate offices, and the resulting collapse of giant, apparently secure businesses causing doubt in the minds of stockholders and fear throughout the stock market, is nothing less than a costly lesson to be taught to the education industry of this nation. School, especially elementary school, is where the foundation of our future is formed.
"The Pembroke Manor House, 1764"
Are we not expecting enough? What can we do to improve our future?
Maybe we've failed somehow. Maybe we could have done more in the past to prevent this type of tragedy. Abraham Lincoln, over a century ago, looking at some of the political decisions made around him said: "The philosophy of the classroom in one generation will become the philosophy of the government in the next." Is our political structure as strong as it once was? Will we be able to count on our youth for a secure future as we have done in the past?
Ivy League Academy, in the Pembroke Manor House,1764, is dedicated to a strong Christian Character building program as well as a proven academic curriculum that produces outstanding students in the Tidewater area. The school includes preschool, 3 years through 5th grade in small classroom settings. Our students consistantly score 2 years above the National Average for their grade level. Results of the Stamford Achievement Tests administered each May. There is also a summer program available, Camp Ivy League, up to eight weeks of fun with a daily reading program designed to improve the child's reading skills by one grade level! "The education of youth is an employment of more consequence than making laws and preaching the gospel, because it lays the foundation on which both law and the gospel rest for success." - Noah Webster 1758-1843, Statesman, Educator, Lexicographer, and Author of the first dictionary.
